How to Get a Card

Library cards are free of charge to Cheshire residents.

To obtain a new library card or to renew a card, adults must present proof of residency in the form of a driver’s license, checks imprinted with name and address, auto registration, bill from a utility, or State of Connecticut ID.

Children under the age of 14 require the signature of a parent or legal guardian.

Minors between the ages of 14 and 18 may present a student ID or a school report card as proof of residency.

A card is necessary to check out material.

Lost cards should be reported immediately. A borrower is responsible for all materials checked out on their card until the loss is reported. The charge to replace a lost card is $1.00.

Your Cheshire Library card gives you access to all public libraries in the state.
