Can’t get enough Anime and Manga? Join the Cheshire Anime Club! We meet monthly to watch some of the latest Anime releases on the big screen and read and talk about what’s hot in the world of Manga! Japanese snacks (like Ramune and Pocky) will be available for refreshments. The club meets in the Mary Baldwin Room at 3:00 pm.

Alturas Duo Concert

May 20th, 4PM. Carlos Boltes & Scott Hill are the Alturas Duo. The Duo has been recognized as one of the most engaging ensembles performing in the chamber music world today. The only group of its kind, the Duo was formed with the idea of playing South American and classical music by bringing together the unusual combination of the viola, charango and guitar, and in doing so, creating passionate music that moves at ease between the Baroque, South American folk rhythms and new pieces written especially for the Duo. Flutist Janet Arms will be joinig Carlos and Scott for this performance. This concert is free and open to the public.

How Can You NOT Laugh?

May 10th, 7PM. Singer, comedienne & author Carla Ulbrich will perform, talk about her book How Can You NOT Laugh at a Time Like This? and sign and sell copies. Ulbrich has found laughter to be a lifesaver during tough times. Under the stress of multiple illnesses and constant health ”care,” Ulbrich one day snapped and became the Singing Patient. She channeled her hard won victories, set about reclaiming her health, and penned , a collection of short, inspiring, funny essays that help people thrive and celebrate life despite illness. Registration is required.

The program presenter, Louise LeClaire, has been an eBay member since the year 2000. With 100% positive feedback on 2000+ transactions (buying and selling), she has come to know the ins and outs of the online auction process well and has helped many people get started with eBay over the years. Louise became an Education Specialist in 2008 and has given “Intro to eBay” classes at libraries throughout Connecticut.

1940 Census
