Connecticut Cryptids

Join Patrick Scalisi and Valerie Ruby-Omen for a talk about their new book, Connecticut Cryptids. Pat and Val did extensive research on creature folklore from throughout the state. They’ll explain the concepts of “cryptozoology” and “cryptids,” followed by a live storytelling session on the chapter specific to Cheshire (yes, Cheshire has its own cryptid!).

ZOOM: Creating a Compelling College Application (11th Grade)

7:00pm Tuesday, May 21

This Zoom presentation is to help high school juniors and their parents understand how to use the summer productively to create a compelling college application.

Topics that will be covered: application strategies, current admissions trends, writing the personal statement essay and supplemental essays, teacher recommendations and how students can position themselves to increase their chances for admission.

Friends of the Cheshire Library Annual Meeting

6:30pm Thursday, May 23

Annual Meeting of the Friends of the Cheshire Library.  All are welcome to enjoy refreshments and learn about all of the wonderful things the Friends of the Cheshire Library have accomplished this year and how you can get involved too!  Our scholarship winners will also be recognized during this event.  The Friends of Cheshire Library support all of the programming at the Library and much more!
